“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”

~ Nelson Mandela

The theory of evolution has stated that changes do take place, slowly and gradually. The evolution of a human from an ape is the prime example of evolution. In the same way, the educational system of India and that of the whole world has changed with time. To be precise, initially we had the traditional Gurukul system of education where the teacher i.e. the guru, and the pupils would live together in a distant place and learn various subjects like arts, military techniques, philosophy, etc. Later on, in medieval times, there were Vedic schools and madarsas. But modern educational institutes were introduced in India only after the entry of British. Thus we can see that the education system in India has gradually gained its shape by the influence of various institutions throughout different periods of history.

But Switching back to present times, we can see that the technology has gotten advanced. Many schools use digital textbooks and prompt their students to learn through the means of e-learning. This has changed the way of one-to-one learning and also the attention that a pupil used to get in the times of Gurukuls. The education system has made it all into a self-study sort of structure, the DIY (do-it-yourself) learning. Now-a-days, the main aim of the students is to pass or clear the exams, and that of the teachers is to earn money. Amidst all of this, the actual process of spreading knowledge and education is slowly getting lost somewhere. Many of the school teachers avoid teaching properly in schools and urge the parents to enrol their kids in private tuitions taken by the said teacher themselves in the name of proper learning, which are priced heftily, because the motive there is to simply earn, hence it will not matter whether the student gets personal attention or not.

Whereas in coaching institutes, the gurukul-styled teaching is still practiced but with the infusion of modern-day technologies. A pupil can experience the perfect balance of traditional one-to-one teaching-learning process, and also the modes of e-learning. It is said that the ability to learn, understand and score is different in each and every child and that is the reason why not all physicists are Albert Einstein and not all artists are Picasso or M. F. Hussain.

Coaching centres play a very important role in helping the children attain greater successes in their life. They can mould the future of a student, like a potter who creates beautiful pots and vases from a mere blob of clay. Coaching centres push the child more in the direction of pursuing whatever he/she is aiming for in life. The teachers, who teach the students and help them with preparations of several entrance examinations, like JEE, NEET, etc. are those people who have had once faced the same pressure of passing the said examination(s) and cleared it later. This is practised so that the students can learn in the best possible way and the teachers can guide the students in a better way as they themselves have once seen and crossed that stone already and therefore, ensuring that the students are learning under experienced hands. Hence, coaching classes help in shaping the future of the youth by giving the right push in correct direction. After all, Nelson Mandela has said, “The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow.” And as Erasmus has said “The main hope of a nation lies in the proper education of its youth.”
